Congratulations to cpht, the winner of our Awesome AFC'er award this month! Here's what she had to say about AFC:
1. Tell us a little about yourself. I am a full time stay at home mom, with a part-time job outside of the home. My DH and I went on our first date in May of '91 and have been inseparable ever since. We have a beautiful DD (10), that we homeschool. I love to crochet, read, and strive to keep our home a haven.
2. What is your favorite feature of AFC and why? While I joined AFC for all the couponing knowledge and deals, I am astounded at how much more it has enriched my life. AFC taught me all I know about couponing and saving money, but I love all the different forums that share our interests besides just couponing. I have made so many friends here, and just love the tips, encouragement, and support we all share with each other.
3. How do you get coupons and how do you keep them organized? I purchase a double paper each week for two sets of coupons, and get extras from family members who don't use their coupons. I organize my coupons by clipping and keeping them in baseball card holders in a binder. I use dividers and file my coupons alphabetically. I just seem to be able to find what I'm looking for better that way rather then sorting by category.
4. Tell us about you favorite store to shop and/or your favorite item to stockpile. Well, before AFC, I felt like I could only shop at Walmart for the best prices. Now, I know I can shop CVS for great HBA deals, Publix for fantastic B1G1 deals, and Aldi for most of the things that I don't have a coupon for.
Hmmm....favorite item to stockpile? That's hard to pin down, but I would have to say peanut butter or Knorr Rice sides.....then, just about anything free.
5. What advice do you have for someone new to couponing? What tips can you share for someone new to AFC? If you are just starting out with couponing, my advice would be first to read, read, read. The forums here are chock full of great tips and friendly people who are willing to help! Secondly, don't be afraid to ask questions. This is a great group of folks here, and I'm sure that you will get more than answers and advice then you could imagine just by asking.
If you are new to AFC, I recommend stopping by the Welcome Mat. There's a fantastically, friendly Welcome Wagon crew ready and waiting to become your AFC buddy and help you with any questions you may have about couponing or navigating through AFC.
